Maine Home & Design, Bonus Art Edition //2015, page 70

I believe in soft realities - the power of connection, balance and love along with understanding the body as an expressive agent, coming to me during my teen years while a student of classical ballet in New York.

Now, I live in Maine on an island in Passamaquoddy Bay, where nature is very large.
Here, my spiritual inspiration is drawn from my garden, with its messages of renewing life along with being affected by female experience, environmental concerns, and meditation.

Creating what I need.

Over the many years, my artist path has been enriched by many artists such as Degas, Modigliani, Donatello, Kiki Smith, Yayoi Kusama, along with the ancient Egyptian sculptures that, as child, I found and loved in New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.

I began my formal training in New York City at The Art Student's League studying sculpture with Jose DeCreeft during the early 60’s; after that I attended The Cooper Union School of Art & Architecture. Later I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

Moving from New York City close to forty years ago to my rural life in coastal Maine , I am grateful for the continuing, unfolding adventure pursuing my work as an artist.
